Guidepost Pediatric Services, LLC is a pediatric therapy clinic located in the beautiful Mat-Su Valley-right outside of Anchorage, Alaska. This area is the perfect blend of the *real Alaska* as the gateway to the interior of the state. Our clinic offers a combination of onsite and telemedicine therapists to best meet the needs of our patients.

Guidepost is a privately owned clinic. We provide children’s therapy in a fun, family-friendly, professional environment. Serving children from birth to 21 years. All of our therapists regularly attend continuing education courses and seminars to keep up with the newest techniques. Guidepost believes that a child’s therapy program is a collaborative effort initiated by the therapist and carried out beyond the sessions, throughout the child’s daily life. Each therapist works closely and in conjunction with those closest to the kids (e.g., parents, teachers, caregivers, schools, etc.) to achieve your child’s highest potential. We are a wrap-around one-stop-shop service intra-professional clinic offering OT, PT, Speech and Behavioral Mental Health, Nutrition-Wellness Coaching, Reading and Math specialists to meet the needs of our diverse patient demographic. Future opportunities to travel into outlying rural Alaskan communities coming in 2022. While the main practice location remains in Wasilla, our brand new 1900 sq. ft. location allows for a unique hybrid model of pediatric and educational services under one roof which has proven successful for pediatric populations . Our clinic has an incredible build out and is an oasis for parents and clinicians. We are focused on the quality of life for the patient, family and therapist and consider that in our daily scheduling practices.

Individuals seeking this position require a high level of commitment to the philosophical foundation of the profession and the Guidepost Mission Statement, as well as the ability to demonstrate awareness of positionally and cultural factors that influence wellness in Alaska. Clinicians would be open to the synergy of Pediatric OT/PT, Speech, Behavioral/Mental Health and Educational Services for pediatric patients with brain and body disabilities.

Coordination with other community-based agencies and case management tasks beyond a typical speech therapist position is both expected and encouraged. Duties are primarily self-directed with support from existing team and include but are not limited to:

  • Design and fabrication of client-centered specialized adaptive equipment and/or lesson plans for your patient load ( some equipment is provided)

  • Frequent family support/consultations via email, text and care conferences

  • Attendance at consultation meetings for caseload patients within the interprofessional group at Guidepost.

  • Occasional intervention in home and community settings where indicated and documented on a care plan

  • Following detailed clinical care plans

  • Evaluates, treats and monitors patients. Modifies therapy programs and goals.

  • Meeting with staff and coordination of therapies if indicated

  • Fluency with telemedicine service provision using GoToMeeting following mentorship period

  • Training and in-services for local agencies (daycare, school districts, care providers, community partners and physicians) with a strong focus toward physical and mental health outcomes.

  • Timely daily documentation and charting

Our office staff manages schedules Monday-Thursday- 9-7 and Friday 9-5.

Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist

Full-time and Part-time

Qualifications:

Master's in Speech Therapy

Certified in the State of Alaska or we will pay for certification.

One year experience working in pediatric speech therapy- graduate school experience will be considered.

Ability to be Medicaid credentialed in Alaska

Telehealth proficient or willing to be trained.

Candidates must demonstrate strong cultural competency and ethical reasoning skills

Candidates must demonstrate cultural humility and interest in the dynamic native cultures of Alaska

Strong self-direction skills to manage schedule and maintain timely and accurate documentation

Pediatric Physical Therapist
