What is Occupational Therapy (OT)?
OT helps children increase independence at home and at school, improve academic performance, enjoy the activities of everyday life, and promotes health and self esteem.

Children’s Speech Therapy
Speech and language therapy (SLT) includes support and techniques to help children reach communication goals and strengthens their social communication skills. There are a wide range of issues that can be supported by speech and language therapy including:
articulation - the formation of clear and distinct sounds in speech
receptive and expressive languages issues - the inability to process directives using different vocabulary and concepts
autism and associated issues that impact the speech
expressive language - getting message across to others to communicate wants and needs
fluency issues - inability to speak with continuity, smoothness, and appropriate rate of speech
Alternative / Augmentative Communication (AAC) techniques to address delayed language development that impacts receptive and expressive language
brain injury
concerns with peer social interaction in relation to communication

Our pediatric speech therapy services incorporate input from our multi-disciplinary team so that solutions can be attained using the most appropriate therapies available for each individual child. Guidepost uses multiple assessment tools for testing your child. We seek a wide variety of information showing us where your child needs intervention and support. Throughout this process we will spend all the time needed to explain and teach parents how to meet the needs of their child before and after therapy appointments. Our therapists have certification in autisism communication devices, Orton Gillingham Dyslexia Intervention and early childhood intervention techniques.
